Things are happening out in the world, and there is a lot of general reporting on the real estate market, but here I will talk about what I know which is the Santa Cruz County market. Currently, we are seeing very low inventory levels. Only 170 listings county wide and prices range from $10,000 million to $399,000 as you can imagine that equates to very few listings that fit the location and budget of the average buyer.

The market's changing. I think it is important that when you're interviewing an agent you find an agent that really does know the market. When you are talking to an agent and you found them online and you found them like me online and you found their qualifications and you think, I'll interview them. They must know the market they are advertising themselves so they must know the market. I thought about it and I thought, you know, how do you really know if an agent understands the current market? What is the "market" what is this indeterminate thing. I have likened it to a blob that oozes over everything, a cloud, maybe a Tsunami that slowly receded belying the danger it is really going to do. For Realtors we often say "it's the market" a saying to help explain the unexplainable. Why are houses not selling as fast as a month ago, why did that cute house never sell, why, why, why.
