San Lorenzo Valley

Here is a wonderful area of very unique communities that is often lumped together as the San Lorenzo Valley, but each area is very special, Felton, Ben Lomond, Boulder Creek, Brookdale. Home to millions of Sequoia Sempervirons or redwood trees that were vital to rebuilding San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake. This too was a place to respite from the central valley heat, small cabins were located in very dark recesses of the forest. In the early 1900’s they were used only in the summer, these homes now are used full time. The peace and serenity of the trees blowing in the breeze and sometimes the absolute still in the air is captivating. Each city can be found along highway 9 and there are countless neighborhoods that provide community and neighborly kindness. This is an area that is more rural, mostly on public water, sewer is not connected here, and septic tanks are used. Natural gas is in some areas, yet propane is the dominant energy source for cooking stoves and for heating.

*please note these are my personal observations and knowledge of these areas.
